COLOMBIA — EL OBRAJE GEISHA & BOURBON

COLOMBIA — EL OBRAJE GEISHA & BOURBON
This Special Reserve lot comes from El Obraje Estate in Nariño, Colombia. The coffee is grown at 2,200 metres above sea level on mineral-rich slopes overlooking a river valley, where the natural environment provides excellent conditions for slow and even cherry maturation.
Producer Pablo Andrés Guerrero is deeply committed to both coffee quality and environmental conservation. He has restored much of the estate as a natural forest reserve and introduced Panama Geisha trees to the farm in 2011. Composed of Geisha and Bourbon varieties, this washed lot delivers a clean, transparent and refined cup, elegantly combining floral aromatics, juicy fruit sweetness and bright acidity.
FLAVOUR PROFILE
Tasting Notes: Jasmine 🌼 | Nectarine 🍑 | Pomelo 🍊 | Mangosteen
Cup Profile: The cup opens with delicate jasmine florals, followed by the soft, juicy sweetness of ripe nectarine. A bright and refreshing pomelo acidity emerges through the mid-palate, accompanied by a subtle citrus-peel character. As the coffee cools, a balanced sweet-and-tangy mangosteen note gradually develops. The overall cup is clean and silky, finishing with lingering florals and fruit sweetness.
Barista’s Note: The most captivating quality of this coffee is the way Geisha’s elegant floral character complements Bourbon’s rounded sweetness. Rather than relying on intense fermentation flavours, this lot stands out through its clarity, balance and layered complexity. Enjoy it from hot to cool to experience how its aroma, acidity and sweetness evolve with temperature.
